Amish John,

Didn't the soldier's caps,(on the tops), also as well as their coats have their Corp insignia ? I think Gen. Philip Kearny came up with the idea first and then Gen. Butterfield expanded throughout the AOP. Kearny had 3rd Division, III Corp which was a blue diamond.

In fact, I refer you to this screen shot. Row four, fourth from left.

December screen shot. Clearly this is the Divisional flag of 2nd Division, I Corp. I think they beat us to it.

Greg,

You are correct about the corp badges. They were initiated in March of 63. Federal issue corps badges were simple cut cloth to be worn on top of the forage cap. Many soldiers bought fancier private purchase corp badges of cloth, metal, or bone, and wore these either on their hats or coats. Some of these were very fancy and expensive and fetch high prices today. Some soldiers had these private purchase corp badges engraved with their names to help identify them if they were killed since at that time there was no offical government ID tags issued to soldiers.

Yes, that is another division HQ flag. Now, hopefully corp and brigade flags will be implemented. Pesonally, I think NSD wants to keep some surprises for us and not give everything away before the game is released. They are a clever, crafty bunch :P

Amish John, thanks for posting that link!

I can't play the preview movie  for some reason, so i have no idea what the current state of the flags are in the game. From what you've indicated, the flags are gonna be in the historically correct ball park which if thats the case then the Commander's flags just need to be a bit taller than the rest of the pack.

Norb, NSD guys, any comments!
putting it on youtube is the best we can do, so if you can't see it there, there's not much else we know how to do for you.

Thanks Little Powell!
I did a search for war3d and found it.

Now it seems to play OK although i only watched the first few seconds of it because of my slow dial up and i gots to go somewhere. Now the interesting part, when it downloaded in normal quality video, everything played Ok. When i clicked on high quality something was downloading but nothing was happening. After about 5 minutes of this i clicked back on normal quality and that hung up IE and my PC also as it was apparently trying to load a plug-in of some kind probly a codec i'll geuss.

Admittedly, i'm not a big Utube fan as it takes forever to download a 5 minute video with my dialup. So i've never tried the high quality setting until now.

I plan to watch the video later when i get the time. Man i wish i could get DSL out here. :(

Wheww!
FWthehellIW! Finally after all this time i was able to see the movie on Utube albeit in normal low res video mode. Thirty to forty seconds of download then 1 to 2 seconds of video... on and on... piecemeal.. to a total of over a half hour to download the entire 2 minute video. This reminded me why i don't visit Utube.com. I wouldn't wish dialup on my worst enemy!

Can't wait now to order the game!:)

Some critiques though IMO and only IMO FWIW.
-The Union and Confederate battle flags are waaay too big out of proportion to the troops.
-Whats with the dark stormy clouds? The battle far as i know took place during hot muggy probably white cloudy overcast weather unless some of the scenes were during Lee's retreat.

Why are ALL the cavalry horses the same clonish color? Because the graphics are a quantum leap over TC2M this really stood out.

Finally, for an advertisement type video, the background music was great BUT for us wargamers it would of been nice to hear some guns firing amid the music.

Here's some information regarding the weather during the battle.
