We just moved this bug up in priority, it will be in the next patch.
Hey, Norb, while you are working on the courier, how about adding some sort of acknowledgement that messages sent to the superior officer have arrived....and perhaps even give a response. I.E. "Message received...no artillery reinforcement available." or some such.

Thanks

J
Or E T A of reinforcements!

Thanks for putting the courier problem to the top of the list-I'm getting one courier message about every 2 seconds in the Sandbox mode! Makes it pretty much unplayable...

It's too bad that I can't get a saved game of this happening so that I could fix the route of the problem, so I'll finally give in and put a band aid on it for the good of the player base.

Yeah we need your help guys. :)

I play the game a lot for testing etc., but I must not play it enough because I don't get this bug.. But maybe I'm just not noticing it. I do get courier messages from time to time, but they always make sense.. They are higher commanders that are on AI control, or un-TC'd.

Not to say there isn't still a bug there though. The important thing is, you can help us enormously by sending us a saved game just before it happens. Turn on autosave and set the time to 2 minutes or so. If you get a courier message that shouldn't be there, go back to your autosave. If the courier comes back, zip it up and send it in. sowsupport at scourgeofwar dot com

I'd have to say in the scenarios I've played up to GB16 that there has not been that many messages to be a problem. For the most part they have been scripted messages at the beginning of a scenario and that's been about it!

Good point, that's the other thing I have suspected that people are mistaking for a bug. There are quite a few courier messages at the beginning of the historical scenario's. Some are important orders, others are just messages to give you a more immersive game experience. But I can see how some folks would find them annoying and mistake them for a bug.

I've not experienced this bug, but I believe that such a deluge could be precipitated by taking the following steps:

1) Play with orders by courier at the lowest level (brigade)
2) Play at Corps level
3) TC all your brigades
4) Issue orders to your division commanders

The result is that the division commanders all despatch couriers to their brigade commanders relaying your orders. As you have the brigades TCed, these orders will all pop up on to your screen and in rapid succession.

I don't know if this is the problem the OP is suffering from, but I thought I would put it out there.
