I recommend hibernation until then. I know I wish I was still asleep right now...and maybe for the next week or two. Then the features patch will be out before you know it! :silly:

We are on release candidate 2, testing went well last night. When I stop getting file fixes each night, we'll release.

Have been amongst the missing for a number of months now. DSL issues having sent me into a full offensive campaign against my service provider. Fortunately, I have been victorious and new service lines have been installed up my rural hill. I jumped online and noticed the pending release of a new upgrade/rev. , as I write this I see Norb and all the powers that be online. Hopefully that is an indication of an upload! Love the smell of "new rev" in the evening....

Not tonight, sorry to say. I'm building RC3 now. Had some OOB issues that had to be fixed. Hopefully this is it, we'll run it through testing.

Considering you have to release it anyway what about the changelog? That must be definitive so... whether you release or not it's good to go.

I mean ... curiosity killed the cat but it killed me first.

The changes.txt file is always the last file to be locked down before release. It has to be gone through line by line to make sure that the listed change really did make it into the patch. In addition, it must be translated from dev/coder speak into recognizable English. However, just so we don't get named in a wrongful death lawsuit, here is draft text for the first 10 or so items. Note that the language may be further adjusted before final release.

New Features:

* Limited Mods are now allowed in multiplayer games, see the SDK for details.
* New Map "East Cavalry Field", the site of the major cavalry action on the third day of battle.
* New Map "Gettysburg" - A large map with reduced detail representing all four current Gettysburg maps in the game.
* There are 10 new Historic Scenarios representing the battles of East and South Cavalry Field.
* There are 3 new Multiplayer scenarios for East or South Cavalry field.
* Units can now be ordered to locations on the map by clicking on the new Command Map. The command map is displayed by pressing the "N" key or by issuing the "move to map point" order via courier.
* Units and commanders can now be assigned to hot keys by selecting the unit/commander and pressing Ctrl + the desired number 1-9.
* Free text courier messages are now available for use in multiplayer games.
* A balance button has been added to the Sandbox setup screen. If unchecked, the enemy forces will no longer be balanced to match your numbers.
* Units will no longer retreat when running out of ammo, they will use the getaway function.
* Artillery hit effectiveness is now modified by the formation of the targeted unit. For example, if a unit in column formation is facing a gun, they will take more casualties.
* Artillery hits can now destroy cannons and a dead cannon sprite is displayed.
