Stonewall Jackson's Last Map

Post by Little Powell »

Gearing up for the 150th of Chancellorsville, I saw this fascinating article posted recently.

Stonewall Jackson’s Last Map
It is perhaps the greatest artifact in the park’s collection, and we’re putting it on display for the Chancellorsville 150th. It’s a map in Jackson’s distinctive hand, showing the battlefield around Chancellorsville, with markings both random (seemingly) and purposeful. We cannot say when Jackson composed this map or how he used it. But there are clues, and questions.

Cool!

That's just awesome. I wonder how many Generals, from either side, had maps like that during a given battle.

Thanks for posting the pic Little Powell.

Yeah its a nice large, high-res image so it could easily be made into a minimap. It may not line-up exactly, but would still be really cool.
