Commanders view

This game looks promising and I'm really looking forward to it :woohoo:

I just hope that features for a realistic Commanders view will be available other than setting the view height per scenario.

Commanders viewwould include:

1. View height at eye level of course (either mounted or dismounted?)
2. Information regarding battle can only be aquired by
a. Moving around the battlefield yourself, which include use of binoculars.
b. Sending aides to investigate and reporting back.
c. Courier messages from superior officers or subordinates.
3. Restricted view of realtime map with plotted own and enemy units (fog of war).
4. Ability to send orders with timeframe included eg. Attack at 11 a.m.

All this would really show how much in the dark a Commander could be during a battle and decisions will often have to be based on assumptions and incomplete intelligence.

To my knowledge, Commander View will not be available in the stock scenario's, but I know for a fact that this is something that can be modded. In theory, every scenario can be modded to restrict the camera to the eye level of the commander.

What you are describing has many of the features that may show up in Grog mode. That will be the maximum difficulty setting. The exact details are not set yet as we have to see what plays well with the coding.

Ah, I like where this is going.. This would also be a very cool and challenging way to play multilayer.. MP in the Saddle. :)
