I took early American Naval History when I was at USNA. It was very cool, because we would learn about the battles, then walk over to the museum and see the painting and the ship models. It's a fascinating subject in that I could not believe how many major battle took place on our great lakes. You just don't think of them that way, seems that naval means ocean now. But it wasn't back then.

Now there's an idea for a game.........WAR3D: CLASSIC NAVAL WARFARE!

I used to love blowing up my toy boats when I was a kid.......that would include my model of the Santa Maria that took me weeks to put together......and mere minutes to obliterate!:lol:

I used to to the same thing with Revell ship models I had using "cherry bombs", push the boats out onto the water and run like hell, to see them disintegrate in a huge blast. :woohoo: :laugh:

Those were the days weren't they?! I bet like myself ( and oh so many other little boys ) you use to have the plastic "Green Army" soldier's?
I remember I use to set mine on fire and watch them melt!

All the while using firecrackers for explosives to blow up my jeeps,trucks and tanks!:lol:

When I was a kid they just came out with Marx Brothers "Blue and Gray" toy soldier playsets of which I'd get a new set every Christmas during my early years, which I still have in near mint condition. During the summer months would make sand forts placing the soldiers in them. Get back a few feet and shoot them with a BB gun, or use blackcat firecrackers it was great to see them soldiers go flying all over the place. :woohoo: :laugh:

I might add that it was my early experience at building entrenchments, which probably could'nt spell at the time. :laugh:
