WISHLIST - Seven Years War

Post by JohnD »

If you had to pick one thing that you would like to see in a tactical-level, Seven Years War game, what would it be?

I would like to see militia and Indian units. They could be less able to fight hand-to-hand, but would have greater LOS and other similar historical attributes.

Better bayonet charge rules. Units should have to pass a moral check before starting a charge, and defenders should have to pass a moral check to stand.

I would like to see a Command & Control type game where the myriad of formations and formation changes and the like, are key to playing the game

One thing for the French and Indian war:

Some kind of ambush mode so you can take advantage of your irregulars (Indians and rangers).

On the European side of the conflict:

Great flexibility in use of scout cavalry.

Ah well for some reason I got a hankering for some bayonet and musket style warfare and looked up to see what MMG was doing and found my way here. :)

By the way, there is a good episode of Canada: A People's History that contains a reenactment of the Battle of the Plains of Abraham.

I found a clip of it here:
