Game won't run. Keeps crashing. Hopefully we won't get any posts here, but if we do, we'll try to help you out. You can also post any bugs that you find here. IMPORTANT: Don't post mod related problems here!

Newly installed game keeps crashing

My friend and I have played this game for many years, but I just got a new computer and installed the game on it. We both have Version 1.61, and we both have the same Mods highlighted. We tried playing MP for the first time today since my installation and the game would crash each time after around 10-20 minutes. It would run fine for a while, then crash, and we tried five or six times over a 2 hr. period before giving up. We are going to try again in two days.

What am I missing? Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the tip, RebBugler. My son is now an IT guy--I'll call him and see if he can walk me through it. About seven or eight years ago I paid a guy one hundred dollars to drive thirty miles to my house and map the router port for me. I had spent many days banging my head against a wall and I just could not get it to work.  We'll see if my son can come through for me.

I thought that I posted this last night, but I don't see it:

My game has crashed twice when I tried playing it solitaire, once after 15 min. and again after about 90 min. I understand about needing to map a router port for MP, but I don't know why it crashed in solitaire.  Like I said, I just recently installed the game into my new computer.
Any advice??

A couple of things...

What appears to be causing the crashes are the following errors in the log:
11:00:12 NOT FOUND ID - IDS_MAP_ORCHARD2
11:00:12 NOT FOUND ID - IDS_MAP_ORCHARD3
11:00:12 NOT FOUND ID - IDS_MAP_ORCHARD4
11:00:12 NOT FOUND ID - IDS_MAP_FARM

Pretty sure they are the result of the 'GcmRandomMaps4' mod.  If you can't find an update or fix for this mod I'd say ditch it.

The other thing, you're using a very old version of Bugles & Flags, update wise.  I suggest you download and use the latest version.  Its  been proven to work best with Win10 and newer computers plus it has a more advanced toolbar, better and more flags, plus other improvements.  The download link can be found in my signature below.

I have the same problem with a user scenario I created. Nothing fancy, just a small scenario to test. Only 3 regiments & 1 objective to test the user scenarios. Using Win10. Builtin scenarios work great, so I'm doing something wrong. Placed in the Matrix Games\Scourge of War - Anniversary Edition\Work\Scenarios directory. I attached my log file. It didn't show any errors. Last crash was about 23 minutes in. I played TC2 a lot in the past & made scenarios. Appreciate any help.

Common error with custom builds. Easy fix, your couriers must have one less zero than your top commanders in the scenario.csv file. Right now they have the same number of zeros.
