Currently, the only choices for map icons indicating the position of friendly units all involve real-time updates to this information. However, I am attempting to find a way to coordinate movements for Corps or Army level scenarios that is somewhat faithful to historical constraints (that is, maintaining some degree of "fog of war" with respect to the locations of units).
My basic idea is a feature that allows for periodic (not instantaneous) updates to the location of units on the map, with the frequency of such updates being dependent on a unit's distance from the player's officer. These could either be contained in courier messages, or through a new system. This would better reflect Napoleonic realities, with only the approximate location of non-visible units being known at a certain time.
Any feedback/comments are greatly appreciated.
