Map scaling

Hello,

What is the scaling used for the in-game maps relative to the real-life locations? Is this a consistent amount, or does it vary across individual maps?

So as not to leave this thread unanswered...Can't provide precise scaling data, but I do know that all the SOWWL maps are scaled the same.

The maps are constant.
But, the maps may be a different size.
But the scale is the same.

Basically, there is no set unit of measurement. except a 6 mile map is a 6 mile map. The units of fire and movements are consistent form one to the other ,as well as 6 mile to 12 mile maps.
The basics are 3miles per hour (+/-) terrain.

But, distance is not the governing factor. SPRITE SCALE is
The sprite scale being roughly 4:1 makes the Sprites bigger, the trees match the sprites, the roads match the sprites, etc.
The 3d map is correctly scaled but adjusted to match this.

I don't know if it helps, but when I was trying to learn how to build a custom map I found out that it is the height.tga file that determines the size of the map in game. It is 0.01 miles per pixel, so a 512x512px file will produce a 5x5 mile map.
