12 maps and 1 winter variant for sandbox play.

These maps have the prefix LW_.

Delete any previous version.

Recommend map draw distances are set to at least 1500 yrds in SoWWL's Options menu. Set trees to 100%. Most of these maps are best played in "Hunt them down" mode. Schellenberg would work best with a scenario designed specifically for it.

Credits. Pom for his new buildings, Biondo and Mark T for their original La Souffel and Eylau maps, which I've used as the base for LW_Alsace and LW_Eylau, and Martin James for testing and advice.

Thank you, Crikey

I can wholeheartedly recommend these maps. They are quite stunning. The KS Group have enjoyed many hours playing on them and not a little time just riding around and admiring the views!

If I recall, though, we did need to change some of the values in the csv files for stone walls around one of the towns on one map to suit our needs, playing HITS. They were slowing down troops and Couriers greatly, making command difficult in areas where there were many stone walls on the outskirts of the town.

Grog :)

Grog - thanks for the kind words.

RALB - Extract them to your mods folder, like any other mod.

That should have created a Lace Wars folder there, you then activate the mod in the mod list.

Check you don’t have a duplicate sub folder of the same name within the folder which can sometimes happen when extracting..

Anyone else having problems?

Works, but I had to fix it. It unzips to the Maps folder (lacking main folder). Had to make a new (main) folder, named it Lace Wars Map Pack for SoWWL, and now it's in the correct mod form, hierarchy. And for those that are fixing this download, Maps are copied to that main folder.

Followup...

After some quick tests:

Half of the maps crash before fully loading, and the one's that do load have a lot of log errors.
Unless something's amiss on my end, I'm guessing these maps need supporting files.

Had to do the same thing, it works fine now

As said, unzipping can cause that problem for some. Not all. I suspect it depends on the command you use to unzip. Which may depend on the prog used too.

Yes, you need a folder created, as with any mod, but the extract files command usually does that automatically. However, some commands seem to create an additional folder which then also causes problems. It sucks, but I can’t control that aspect. I also fear windows 10 adds more shit to the mix. Thankfully it’s an easy fix.

The numerous errors suggested by Reb concern me. I’ll be clear.... I don’t intentionally leave files out of my mods, for exactly that reason. All files needed should be there. It may be an install issue, but happy to look at log file. :)

I’ll do my best to address.

Again, are others experiencing the same?

Deactivate all your mods and run this map pack alone. I predict you'll see the log errors I see, and experience some crashes.
Just to be clear, Maps is the lone folder in this mod, right?
