It's good that you had your own private moment on the field. Bet you never forget it.

Lovely ground, isn't it! I have been looking through the pictures that I took and it is such a beautiful place. A shame so many fought and died there.

I like the snow on the leading edge of the 72nd PA Inf statue. Leaning into the blizzard to club someone on the noggin.

It would have been an interesting battle in the snow.

i can't believe they still had snow on the ground... crazy. that would have impacted my own experience of the field, no doubt.

It certainly impacted the temperature of my feet.. They just about froze off.
That was the only time it snowed the whole trip. It had snowed a little the night before, and the snow was all melted towards the end of my walk. Although it made the field look quite different than it would have looked during the battle, it made it more beautiful IMO.

Hello Gentlemen,
I am new to this community and was just looking for a place to jump in and get started. This seemed like a good enough place. Nice photos of the field. The 72nd Pennsylvania monument looks interesting with the snow (or maybe it is frost) on it. Thanks for sharing the photos.
