Trouble with AWI_1

Hello, I've been trying to get this great mod into my game but with no luck. I downloaded the AWI_1 and 2. Placed the british unit files in the american units folder then placed the folder in the mod section and the game crashes at Press bar to start. I read the other posts but still did not get a definitive answer about how to deal with this. It may be something simple that I'm missing. Please help and Thanks.

Hi 9thBtnMOS

Can you try starting again and if the same problem occurs open the SOWGB log file and either post the log file here or if you can see an error in the log file post that here. Also you could try right clicking the SOWGB exe. file and then left clicking 'Troubleshoot compatibility' If your getting to the hitting start then it should be something easily fixed.

Remus, thanks for taking the time to reply. I've tried the "troubleshoot compatibility" and the same thing happens. Forgive my ignorance but where is the log file?

Hi 9thBtnMOS
To find the log file right click on your Scourge of War game and click on the properties box. When the next box opens click on ' open file location'. Once your into the files look for the work folder. Open that and you will see the SowGB log file. Click on it to open and you will find a list of the games loading processes.
You might be able to quickly spot a mistake which is causing the game to crash. If you do let me know what it is,if not copy the file and post it here. Also try loading the game without the AWI2 file and let me know if it loads.

It appears to be working. The game ran with the small oob for about 20 seconds. I looked around a little bit then it crashed. From what I saw the graphics look great.

Hi 9thbtnMOS

Have you tried loading Brandywine or Long Island? The OOB you loaded after reinstalling mainly is a flag issue. Overall it maybe an install issue . Let me know if the other OOBs loaded . If they do and you want to play the smaller OOB then you will have to go into the OOB file and into the flag column then locate the deRegt flag and copy and paste one of the other flags on top of it. Did you try loading without the AWI2 file?

I didn't try the loading the game without AW_2 yet but I did try another oob and it appears to be working correctly. Thanks for the help.
