Hi folks.

Sandbox question.

French Imperial Guard troops (chasseurs) don't fire when in line even when very close to the enemy (50 yards).

If I break the battalions down they will fire, but not when the battalions are in line.

I have tried this when the units are TC'd and under AI control. They just won't fire.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Are you the brigade commander?
In the top left of screen is the target name shown as target and not only as closest enemy?
Have you check the ammo of units involved?

I tried it again in sandbox. Morand's guard division. Division to division in sight battle.

Neither the French or the Prussian infantry in line will fire despite clear targeting information in the upper left screen. Range less than 100 yards. Full ammunition supply.

Meanwhile the artillery on both sides fires normally and to great effect.

Weird.

This hasn't happened in other sandbox or game scenarios, where the all the units fire normally when in range.

I will try using some other Imperial Guard infantry units in another sandbox game to see if it happens again.

Are you using the Guard Chasseurs and Landwehr Cavalry Mod and the Grog Toolbar?

If so be careful they are in the correct sequence in the Mods screen:

I'm not sure how to move the mods up and down the menu so I simply deselected the cavalry sprite mods.


Infantry battalions in line formation now fire when they didn't before.

'Left click hold' drag mod title up or down to change priority.
