is there a setting in Sandbox for infantry only or a no cavalry option, and if not it would be nice to have this feature added.

Agreed. I have played several hunt-them-down games only to find after 45 minutes of playing that my infantry corps is facing an enemy cavalry corps which makes for no worthwhile game at all.

Even better are the games where you find you are facing an artillery reserve corps. :(

Adding my voice to the call for a tweak on the sandbox.

I've played a number of infantry division hunt-them-down games only to come up against just pure artillery or cavalry units after maneuvering for an hour.

One should be able to request an opponent made up of a force of your own choice (pure infantry, pure cavalry, or combined arms.

I'd like to support this. It would also be nice to have some cavalry, when commanding an infantry/artillery division, simply to do reconnaissance. This would make it much more realistic on the Hunt Them Down scenarios.

If the solution to this was a mere tweak this would have been addressed years ago. Obviously it's not something that will miraculously happen with WL, as the patch features mount daily, and there is a solution, albeit through mods. (offering multiple specialty OOBs as stock releases is an update nightmare for developers)

The solution, as it has come to be, is to reconfigure the present OOBs to accommodate balance preferences.

The tools have arrived via the SDK, so all OOBs are available for modding.

Once things settle down and most issues are laid to rest with the next patch, I may offer some BALANCED sandbox mods if none are still publicly available, or there's an opening for another variance.

What the hey, did a quickie...Removed all Division Level Cavalry and Artillery Units:

Sandbox Balanced

Unzip and Copy to the Mods Folder:
The attachment SandboxBalanced.zip is no longer available
Got it started, whittle down the OOB to just infantry, and you have your "Infantry Only" sandbox. Maintain the numbering of the COC integrity. Then change it's name and replace my name with your name in the mod Intro, it THEN becomes your mod. :)

Well, while we are on the subject is there a way to click on a Corp and Highlite just the units you would like to have in the battle.
Example: Corp vs Corp---3 INF Divivsions and 2 Cav Divisions with 1 ARTY reserve..

but I only want to have 1 Inf division out of 3 in the Corp and also 1 cav division.

Is there a way to just say Shift and click on the units in that Corp and have them in the Scenario ??

I agree with the above - of course the coding would be quite difficult but it's a good option.

Players probably don't want to know what their sandbox enemy has. They won't want an "infantry only" option, they'll want a "don't just field cavalry or artillery" option; so there must be some infantry in the mix.

It gets harder if you go down to division level because the likelihood of a cavalry division being selected is higher. At corps level it should be an easy fix - just remove the cavalry corps from the master OOB.

The Anglo-Allied cavalry is a pain though as historically its all in one corps and none of the Anglo-Allied infantry corps except the Brunswickers has an integral cavalry division. Thank you Wellington!
