So still don't understand why you won't let people close the map by pressing M a second time, 7/10 times when I try to press the X to close it I hit the corner and I get flung to the far corner of the map.

if you won't let me use M to close it, then put a black border close to the X to I won't hit the damn map by mistake.

I agree that making the M key a toggle that opens the map when its closed and closes it when its open would be an extremely welcome addition.

I always just use the escape key to close it.
