We are working on updating the readme then should be good to go for beta patch one. We see no risk at all in installing this. I will fix the crashes that people have reported. We've fixed all of them that we know of, so it's a good patch. There is a fix to the grog toolbar mod. I'll post the readme once it's done. We're doing this tonight, just got the last bugs worked out. It's only a crash fix, nothing new.

We are working with Matrix on the game install to fix the issue with the black boxes, as this can be set by the installer, and we're providing them a new starting resolution for those that have this issue. Once we have the bugs worked out we're going to work on getting out the SDK. Right now the team is hitting pakfront's tools hard. We'll get them to you soon.

SOWWL Beta Patch 1

After the patch runs, please verify that the following files have been deleted from the game folder:
Now the patch should have removed some files from the grog mod. Please check the grog mod folder and see if it worked.

Mods\Toolbar Expanded - Grog/Layout/Media/Language/LanguageEnglish.xml
Mods\Toolbar Expanded - Grog/Layout/Media/SOWWL_Media/ToolbarButtons.xml

On some machines the script is not able to remove these files and they are the cause of one of the crashes.

Sorry to do this, but viewing high scores while having the grog mod activated still causes a crash.

Now the patch should have removed some files from the grog mod. Please check the grog mod folder and see if it worked.

There are other files in there now, but the two above should be gone now. It worked in our testing. It was the file that was causing the crash.

OK, those two files were still there. I removed them and voila, no crash when viewing high scores

FYI - the patch didn't remove the files from my computer, either. I manually removed them.

OK, I'll take a look at the patch and see if I can fix it. Those are the only two files that need to be removed. Thanks guys.

Just checked over the script and ran it again against the Matrix version, works every time. I wish I knew what was wrong, but for some reason the script is failing to remove those files on some machines. I'm assuming that you didn't rename the folder or change anything in there. I'll keep looking, but thanks.

Norb, are you using the registry information for the install location or just the default folder info from the matrix install?

I wonder if some of us might need to have run the patch as administrator.
