I am most sorry to have to report a CTD while playing scenario twenty. It is as you may know the full battle,as the allied army commander.I was at the last 15 minutes of the 9 hour scenario and out of the blue it crashed.Unfortunately I did not realize the auto save had set itself back to zero and the last save I made was four hours back. Very frustrating as the scenario was nearly finished.I am running windows 7 on an old Toshiba Satellite laptop. Not sure of all the pc specs off the top of my head but I am able to run most games alright. The scenario seemed to be running pretty good. This is a good example of why I prefer old fashioned tabletop board wargames with dice.Only have to beware of my cat getting on the table and scattering the pieces. :P

Very frustrated here in Ohio......................

After thinking about the CTD a bit I am inclined to think the the problem is with my pc....Perhaps I should cut the graphics back some.I am going to restart the scenario at my last save and let it run through while I crash to my own desktop for the night.See if the scenario can finish out.

My PC is seven years old now. I have to have the sprite ratio set to 6 to get a reasonably smoothish experience in that scenario.

I suggest you to set the autosave option to 1 minute, both because you can have a restart point without replay the full scenario and also because it can help us to see if the problem is of game or if is a hardware problem

Do you have an integrated graphics card? People using laptops with those have reported some problems on the large scenarios.

http://www.norbsoftdev.net/forum/nuts-a ... enario-ctd

That is why we specify a dedicate graphics card in the min specs.

"Video: 256 MB Dedicated Video Card with DirectX 9.0c or higher. Video card should NOT be integrated on motherboard, but should be separate, no shared memory"

Thanks for the responses......I do have an integrated graphics card which is most likely my problem. Just going to have to make do for a while until I am able to get a better pc. I cut the graphics back and am trying to finish out the scenario.Tried to run it over night but the game automatically minimizes with inactivity and pauses itself. Still have a couple of hours to go....

You are very welcome. I know our AI is good but you must not have been trying very hard if you were going to leave it run while asleep :)

Yes....I kind of gave up on fighting out the scenario...Had a good one going. The AI had beat me good.It was only with continuous counter attacks that I was able to take back Hougoumont and La Haye Sainte..I did not use the Prussians very well....Was hoping for a draw and then boom CTD....Kind of took the wind out of me.

There is an autosave option - set that and you will have a very recent backup.

Going to make sure and check that the autosave is set each time I load the game to continue playing.

Whew! ...I did manage to get the scenario to finish out to the end screen....cut the graphics way back.
At least I still have some chance of running the full battle scenarios out to the end.
Ready to try it again.....this time as the French.....

Thanks again for all the helpful input.
