Are you guys going to model any of the retreat in the game? Or how about a day 4 scenario: Mead attacks as a what if scenario? That alone would differentiate this game from SMG in a big way!

I'm all for that, to paraphrase "in a big way"!

The GB game will not have a strategic component that would allow us to sim the retreat. We have discussed how we could add a strategic segment to the game, but decided to focus on getting the main game done. I fully expect that there will be a strategic component as part of a future game.
We have two what-if scenarios that will ship with the game. These are set on days 1 and 2 respectively. A day 4 scenario is possible, but we will leave that one for the mod community.

I'm very curious about a possible "campaign" mode. Career ...something like Chamberlain from 61 to 64...any plans about this or something similar? Im talking of dynamic, not static campaign.

Gettysburg will be a modder's wet dream in terms of "what if" scenarios.
I would love to have an extended Union AOB provided with the original game. This AOB would include garrison troops released after the battle took place as well as other troops in transit that did not make it in time to the battle.
Where there any other Southern units that may have joined Lee after Gettysburg or would have helped him in a fight if he was trapped on the Potomac?

A day 4 what if scenario would be very interesting and could be doable by the mod community. I beleive there are maps available to show where units are and perhaps some oob's showing effectives for the various units as well. I wonder what shape both armies were in on the 4th? How was ammo holding up? Morale etc?

Infantry ammo was sufficient on both sides. Union had plenty of artillery ammo thanks to Henry Hunts unreported second ammo train. CS reportedly had enough artillery ammo for 'one days fight'. So they should have had enough for a day four scenario, but could have been in real trouble if forced to fight a serious action. I suspect that Lee retreated because of the low artillery ammo stocks.

Dale,
To my knowledge, the most complete GB OOB is here:
http://www.gdg.org/Research/OOB/EicherOOB.htm. This was used for the master OOB excluding units shown as 'Not at Gettysburg'. You could easily use this to create a campaign level OOB. Working from memory, there were a couple of CS cavalry brigades that were not present during the battle, but I think that the nearest CS infantry was at Richmond.
