Hi All,

I am a longtime war-gamer but new to SOW. As all you players here know it is a great game powered by an engine with lots of potential.

The game is very compelling and immersive and is made more so by the excellent mods made by community members.

Although I am new to the game, naturally their are features I would like to see added at some point in the future.

I am older and sometimes feel overwhelmed by what must be managed. It would be wonderful to have the option to give orders while paused.

I can't commit a block of time to online multiplayer so a PBEM feature would really be great.

Great game and I am now looking forward to experimenting with the HITS and Courier mods.

All the Best,

John

First, welcome to the forum. If you use the Hits&Courier mod, the game will pause while you are looking at the map. It will also pause the game while using the courier order system, (pressing the 'C' key will call it up). You can't micro-manage units using it, but you can get them into the general vicinity of where you want them. It's a great game which will give you many hours of challenging fun.

MTG - is the pause in minimap view an addition of the Couriers & Maps mod or a normal part of the game? Is it possible for me to change this so that the game doesn't pause? If so which file do I edit?

Open gscreens.csv in the logistics folder of Courier&Maps. Change the value in line 89 column F from 2 to 1. The game will continue running while the map is on the screen.
