In the Options area whether I check Full Screen or not, I get the Full Screen. Are there any known reasons for not being able to play in a Windowed Screen as opposed to a Full Screen?

Regards,

Gibson

No. I have played in windowed mode for a long time.

I think full-screen pauses if you alt-tab out whereas windowed does not - it just goes to the back like a normal window.

This used to be important for MP play - not sure if it still is though. Before if somebody playing in full-screen alt-tabbed in a MP game the game crashed.

Besides clicking on Fullscreen, you also have to select a lower resolution than your fullscreen resolution. Then it will not take up your whole screen.
With the current version I'm not aware of any problems playing in windowed mode.

"Full Screen" means whatever resolution you use, it will stretch to fill the screen and you won't be able to quickly alt-tab back and forth between the game and other programs.

With full screen disabled, it goes into pseudo-windowed mode, where whatever resolution you use the game will start in the upper left corner of the screen. If you use a resolution that is the same as your desktop, it will still fill the screen, BUT now you can alt-tab and bring other programs to the front while the game still runs in the background. This is better than "real" windowed mode with a title bar, so I'm really glad Norb did it this way.

I recommend having "full screen" turned off but keeping the resolution of the game the same as your desktop so it still fills the screen.

Thanks guys for the replies. I think my issue was not realizing it was a pseudo-windowed mode and needing to use the alt-tab as Garnier mentioned. I often use in other games a true-windowed mode where you always have the window border.

Thanks again,
