Hi Guys,

I'm having this exact same issue as http://www.norbsoftdev.net/forum/techni ... king#53371 .. My SOW log says the same thing Presser's did... I've been playing a while, with the GCM guys... The game has always run great for me on Windows XP... but I'm trying to install the new demo on this pretty nice Work PC I have so I can transition my full registered copy to that pc. The new PC is a Lenovo Think Pad T520, with Windows 7. I registered, etc... with my original registration passcode at matrix, even though it is still activated in version 1.4026 on my old laptop (not the lenovo). Every time, it seems to install the game but won't start up, b/c of some compatibility or perhaps display issue...? I can't think of anything but it being a Windows 7 issue, or maybe a graphics; video card issue... or a Display issue... I've tinkered with all display modes, changed the programs compatibility settings, and run it as an administrator... ALL to no avail... It just seems like this is a better PC than I used to use, I figured it ought to work with the game, but that something is just set up wrong?? Any help anyone could provide would be much appreciated!! Thanks!!

Is Presser's the only answer?? Install 1.4 then patch up?

You don't need to start with the demo, the full Matrix 1.5 version should do the trick, then you can patch to 1.6. See this thread to get the matrix version:

Ok, Thanks Little Powell!! I'll try it again... I tried that once, when I noticed that thread, and this is what my log gives me when I register & download the full Matrix 1.5 version... Once I attempt to open/run the game.... I'll delete everything and try it again and see what happens...

I have/had a new comp with Windows 7. Your best bet is to get a completely new SOWGB 1.5 download, install it and patch up to 1.6. Then feed in your mods, checking each one as you go. Should have no problems.

Ahhh... I got it! Thanks Guys!! I tried it before... but it must have just been the 1.6 patch only that I downloaded... I went to "my products' first not the "registered downloads" section. Installed perfect with the 1.5 installer.. patching up now... Thanks again Powell & Jack! Much appreciated gents!
