Something new NOW!

Here you can talk about whatever floats your boat. Your favorite movie, sports team, etc. If it's a little racey, I suggest you post in R&R, otherwise we'll move it for you.

Something new NOW!

Post by ironsight »

Norb, you know i've been having goofy problems with this website i learned to live with. But now all of a sudden out of the blue something new! :(
When i click on a Whats Hot link on the home page i get a message 'You are not authorized to use this feature' or something similar.

I'm logged in, can post replies so whats up now?

This is why I need this stuff posted to the forum and not pm'd to me. I need to see if it's global or not.

I have no idea why that module started messing up. I went and replaced it with another one that seems to be working. Thanks.

Norb, that fixed the Whats Hot link problem. But now this website is extremely slow and sluggish sometimes stopping downloading altogether. If i leave and come back in a while it loads OK again but once i go to a forum link, the downloading goofiness starts all over again.
No problems with other websites...as usual!:P
Maybe its that new worm supposedly going around has something to do with this?

I was just about to post a message about how sluggish the forum is. I thought maybe it was just my computer, although other sites and forums seem to be OK. So I have to agree with Ironsight. I almost hate to mention it as it might divert Norb's time from coding/testing, but I'm afraid it might turn off some new visitors/members.

You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

I went and turned off some of the features in the hopes that it would speed things up a little.

It seems a good bit faster now.

Norb, I'll agree with Amish Jonh now!
Everything is pretty much back to the normal goofiness (apparently in my case only :( ) of this fourm! :P

Whatever you disabled worked!
Mind telling us all what features were disabled?
