Game won't run. Keeps crashing. Hopefully we won't get any posts here, but if we do, we'll try to help you out. You can also post any bugs that you find here. IMPORTANT: Don't post mod related problems here!

Strange issue with Chancellorsville install

Post by pcelt »

Have just installed C'ville into my SOW Gettysburg folder. Seemed successful but there is a strange problem with C'ville terrain in that there are no trees whatsoever--fences, grass ,buldings etc but no trees. All the other games--G'burg,Antietam etc are fine.
One factor I need to mention is that my G'burg game is only patched to 1.4022 and not to 1.5.Could this relate to the problem in C'ville terrain----I have no programming knowledge to help. Is this a possibility and patching to 1.5 would solve this--or is there some other likely causal factor.
Any help much appreciated.
NB Have been reluctant to patch to 1.5 as there seemed so many probs with licensing current add-ons etc.
Are all those probs now solved.
Thanks

Most people have had no issues upgrading to 1.5. However if you run into problems, you are in good hands and we'll get you going again.

Thanks davinci and LP----when installing 1.5 should I DEACTIVATE first (as I have read somewhere) or is that not necessary.
Any other useful guidelines re this 1.5 from Matrix installation much appreciated.

Well, I didn't , but I didn't encounter any of the problems that were posted on the forums.

I would suggest reading some of the post from others that did have a problem, just so that you are aware of them.

But, I think that you should get the Patch from the other forum, if I remember correctly most of the problems have been resolved!

But, if you do have a problem, the NSD Team will get you back up and running, so it may be best to do this as early as possible, considering that you are over-seas.

P,

I would definitely re-install Chancellorsville. If you still have problems, let support know.

Thanks guys one and all--I had nervously tried reinstalling over 1.5 and from first impressions now it looks terrained up----after a couple of days mod and patch therapy from my psychiatrist I shall be willing to return to the game- playing bits of this pastime..........
