The first dragon was not too difficult, this one is a fight to the death...Guess who's? I have a few modifications installed which has made Skyrim even better (visually, crafting, and weapon tweaks, and much much more).

well my first encounter went like this.

im climbing a mountain with no purpose in mind like i usually do in these games.

up on top im standing gawking at the aurora borealis cos its really quite pretty and a friggin great dragon crashes to the ground about 4 feet behind me, making me jump out of my chair shouting 'damn and blast'or something more expressive and causing my missis to throw a magazine at me cos it made her jump.

somehow i manage to off the dragon leaving me with about 10 health points, which i was pleased with as i was low level.
at which point TWO damn bears come out of the nearby bushes and rip me to bits!

knew then i was going to like the game. cheers

Haaaa, I know what your talking about. One second your exploring, next thing you know a dragon lands behind you, and you only have two choices, enter into battle, or run for your life. I have a mod installed called "Deadly Dragons", and you think they were dangerous before, now you had better watch out.

It's rather amazing to watch how fluid the Dragons flight is, and the way it walks on land. Also the way the dragon just burns a swath of destruction as it flies overhead, or hovers there...incredible!

I had a Dragon land directly in front of me, and before I knew what hit me he let out this scream that stunned me to the point I wet my drawers, and high tailed it out of there.

I also have a mod called "SkyMoMod" which also adds over a hundred new creatures, and many others that just makes this already great game into something to have fun with.

No doubt, this sure is a 9 out 10. Bethseda struck gold with this one.

One more note, check out the Hearthfire Addon... Very interesting.

i agree.
been playing this for many many hours not even finishing the main quest.
stopped for a while as i think i burned myself out a bit and my character is now so powerful very little disturbs him.
my plan is to finish the mq,then finish dawnguard.which isnt bad for dlc by the by.
havent tried hearthfire yet (is it out for pc?).
im going to load up a load of the realism mods and deadly dragons, and civil war in skyrim and start again.
been revisiting borderlands 1 to 'de-skyrim' myself and i'd forgotten how much fun that was!
going for borderlands 2 soon as it seems to have been recieved well. cheers

I know what you mean. There are balance mods out there that seem to do the trick. You know about Nexus, so hop on over there to grab the latest leveling mods: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com

Yup! Here is the info on what you can do with it...

Also, here is an Unofficial Hearthfire Patch: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25127
SPOILER: SHOW

There are all sorts of mods that really have changed the game to make it far better for the hardcore player out there like yourself.

Happy hunting!

Here is a very decent tool called "FXAA Post Process Injector Version 2" which is a Tool for Adjusting the Video settings, but ti does allot more than that... I use it to adjust the amount of Bloom since I have found the HDR/Bloom rather annoying at the best of times. I try to make it as close as possible to the real thing (unfortunately you can't unless you re-texture the entire game), so I have tested the settings, and came up with something that I personally feel comfortable with. You can turn it off completely, I have tried that, and the result is disgusting, so having a little bloom is needed.

looks nice.
trouble is there are so many mods its a conundrum trying to figure out which ones to have.
im tending towards the reality mods as my character should not really be able to sneak noislessly
in full plate armour, nor should he be able to swim in a sea full of ice floes and live!

i know its fantasy but i do like a little reality in my fantasy..if you know what i mean.
one of the more silly mods is for 'deeper clanking armour sounds'!
now i reenacted for many years and i have worn and fought many times in a full milanese harness which i still own.and if your armour is clanking, that means it doesnt fit you!

the most you'll hear from a properly fitted armour is a faint metallic rusteling sound.
thats the sort of thing i mean. cheers

Hi redcoat.

I know what you mean where it's just too easy to sneak about, and personally I have never worn real gear like yourself, BUT, I have found the mod for you that does exactly what you are looking for...

I'm going to use this mod, looks very good, and will do exactly what you mentioned above.

The Mod is called "Improved sneak detection", and this is what it does...
[gist]
This mod improves Skyrim's detection while sneaking, triggered by loud noises, changes in light sources and movement.
If you think vanilla sneaking is way too easy (and why not ridiculous sometimes), this mod is for you.
This is an approach to a more realistic gameplay.

If you want to know what this mod does exactly I've uploaded a video, but basically what it does is tweak the default detection values of the game, making it a little more challenging to sneak on npcs.

You will be DETECTED if:
- you walk in the NPCS line of sight and the area is too bright (lit corridors, using torchs or spells that give out light)
- if you make too much noise (wear heavy armor, cast loud spells, run, etc)

It will be harder for you to be DETECTED if:
- you watch patrolling patterns and sneak at the NPCS back
- your sneak level is high enough and you spent some skill points in your sneaking perks
- you wear light armor or wear accessories or enchantments that boost your sneak skill

yep,its mods like this that im going to use.i may just get to the end of vanilla and then put on loads of mods.
had a look at hearthfire..so lemme see if i got this right.

this mod in essence lets you ;

1.build your own house.fine and good especially when the modders have had their way with it.
2.get married and adopt kids.so this is now skyrim the opra years is it?

why on earth would i want a wife and little drains on resources? is there the capability to build a fight pit in the basement of your new house, fill it with skeevers, then throw said children in and charge the locals a reasonable fee to come and watch the entertainment?

are we able to adopt anklebiters and then sell them as slaves\recruits\trail rations to any interested, astute and fiscaly sound party?

id have preferred extra adventures,or properly implemented spears and polearms myself! cheers
