Hey all,
Hoping someone could help...
Making a custom OOB; changed the officer for one brigade into an infantry sprite (want it to be smaller scale) and then futzed with the stats a bit.
Now, however, when I select that officer and the "line" formation he moves but the battalions in his brigade don't.
Anyone know what might be happening?
Thanks!
Units not moving when officer given the order?

Can you please attach the OOB and I'll take a look. Or if you prefer, send me a PM and I'll reply with an email address for you to send it to.

I have an oob where one side (the rebs) will not accept couriers. I am perplexed myself as to how to fix it oe what happened to get it this way.

Hey LP,
You know, I went back and changed the sprite back to a standard mounted officer and now it works. Are officer sprites/categories tied into their ability to give orders?

If this is possible, and I think it is, you will have to make another officer class in the unitmodel.csv file, and follow up adjusting the unitglobal.csv to accommodate that new class. Not sure if any other files are necessary, I don't think so. Regardless, be prepared for lots of testing, trial and error stuff til you get it right.
Much reward if you make it happen, you'll be a proud papa of a dismounted officer. B) Good Luck

Re: Units not moving when officer given the order?
I put together a real fast mod and made this happen for basically my own curiosity.
Look for DM added to the name of the new class, also USA Brig Gen Solomon Meredith is the SB OOB example.
Edit: This one's better plus simpler, and only the unitglobal file is used.

I agree with the Reb here, there only seems to be a few edits that would have to be made to switch the officers on foot.
By default they are already listed in the unitmodel csv file.
So, you would then list that information into the unitglobal .csv file, and take the information from Column A of the (unitglobal) file and apply that to the OOB file.
I haven’t tried this, but it appears logical!

The only true logic is that, there is no true logic!
