Black Mesa for FREE [Recorded Video's in 2nd Post]

What have you done since 2004? I added a second child, moved twice, changed jobs a couple of times and gone through a handful of consoles and PCs. The Black Mesa team spent that time remaking Valve’s Half-Life with a more modern version of the Source engine. Their efforts finally paid off — the remake was released for free today

The total conversion mod contains all of the Half-Life levels up to when Gordon Freeman makes the jump to the planet of Xen. The Black Mesa team still has some work to do with those but expects to release them some time soon.

Aside from the graphical refresh, Black Mesa also comes with new music, voice acting, choreography and added dialogue.

Black Mesa is available to download now but the official website is getting hammered. An official torrent is available from gameupdates.org, Shacknews kindly provided a mirror and one of the developers even dropped it in their Dropbox.

Note that you’ll need have Source Sdk Base 2007 installed on your PC to get Black Mesa to run for now. The project was approved as part of Steam’s Greenlight initiative so hopefully that means it will be an easier install in the future once it is on Valve’s service.

Enjoy!
