The game wouldn't work when I tried to play any kind of battle so I deactivated it and then uninstalled and reinstalled it. Now it can't even get to the menu screen before it stops working. (And before you ask, YES I did re-acvtivate it.)

Try disabling all your mods. The GCM installs a bunch of them. Some people have had trouble in the past with the GCM Terrain mod and the GCM Toolbar mod.
Start by disabling all of them.

He can't get to the menu screen. So mods aren't being loaded, and nor can he disable them.

You can always go into the Mods folder and move them.

Hi Pielord again,
Remember this was the one where I donated and transferred an activation code.
It's just possible there might still be a glitch in the activation details which manifested itself only when you deactivated and reactivated. Remember I did point out at the time the problems I was getting with your e-mail address.
Email "support" and ask them to check and reset your activation code details.

New computer? Laptop without a dedicated video card? Just had to ask? Sounds familiar to my problems when I had difficulties. It's frustrating, but our tech team (Born to See and Little Powell are good.)

Add the game's directory to the exception list of you anti-virus or security software, then re-install.

For those who cannot get to the main menu of the game, and wish to clear the mods being activated prior to this particular problem, then open your SOWGB.ini file. Scroll to where it says...
[Mods]
Then delete all the mods listed. When you restart the game, the mod list will be added again but the mods activated will no longer be deactivated.
OR
While you are in your SOWGB.ini file, scroll through your mods list, and if there are any mods that look like this...
ModName48=Mods\Bugles and Flags v10
ModActive48=1
Turn the 1 into a 0 so it looks like this.
ModName48=Mods\Bugles and Flags v10
ModActive48=0
Start your game. Those mods will no longer be activated.
SOWgb.ini can be found in <drive letter>:\NorbSoftDev\Scourge of War - Gettysburg\Work\ directory.

Hi Pielord
I know you're young and eager but do take a few moments for a little old world courtesy.
A lot of people tried to help you with your problem yet not a single word back on whether any of the suggestions got you running again. Not even a "Thank you" click for each reply.
We try to do things a little differently from that on this forum.

I see that allot on this forum (many forums actually). The only folks here who say thanks are those who understand that it all takes effort to help others in need, and/or create mods, small or large, or tweak a mod/gameplay.
It takes little effort to say Thank You (meaning it though is a whole other issue).
What I have also encountered are people for the most part think that they are deserving to download mods, and they do nothing to contribute by saying Thanks for the hard work, or offering up suggestions to make it better. All they seem to do is complain, and want the solutions handed to them on a silver platter instead of working to fix the problem on their own. I am so sick of whiners out there.
So say thanks.
