What Dayz really looks like with the HDR, and the Motion Blur removed...This is what it should look like. [Video]

I am using the Noblur mod I spoke about earlier. I recorded this to show you Dayz in all it's glory without the damned console kiddy candy coated graphics.

This is how I've always played it. I went through the options the day I bought it and removed all that cinematic nonesense like bloom and head-bob. It is an extremely good-looking game and given how superb the vegetation looks its amazing that there's 225sq km of it and it seamlessly loads into your graphics memory in front of you and unloads behind you as you run across the countryside. This is easily the most immersive FPS I've ever played and probably the scariest in that at any time, anything can happen. You can never truly relax.

The sounds are awesome as well. The sound of a gun shot or two nearby off to your left and quite close can really get the adrenaline running.

Your spot on Saddletank, I turn all those options off as well. The CO-OP aspect as well is really nice, and not knowing who is friend or foe adds more of... Who's more dangerous? The dead or the living?

I don't know why programmers keep adding the console kiddies eye candy to their games, it's rather sickening.

Oh have you heard that they might be breaking away from having it as a mod, and creating their own stand-alone version?

No kidding about firing off your weapon, if the zombies are within earshot they will come, and investigate the noise in hopes of finding some good old fashioned human meat, otherwise you might be swarmed, and that is something you don't want to happen.

Stay safe out there!

I'm waiting eagerly for the stand-alone version and will pay for it happily because the ARMA2 mod version is so vulnerable to hackers and Bohemia Interactive seem to have no interest in stopping that. The stand-alone game has got to close that door.

At least you would hope so. No telling what will come of it though, only talk for now. They were thinking about releasing a Single Player version or allow normal players have their own private servers, and not be a part of the main hive.

Oh well who knows.

Anything's better than the chaos we have now, I've cut back my playing considerably due to the hackers. Single player would suck though... I don't see the point.

Your right single player wouldn't work as well as MP unless they made it into a dynamic story line such as the walking dead where creating, and keeping alive a group of people as you find a place to finely settle in, and have to not only defend them harm, but have to provide food, water (daily essentials), weapons, ammunition, all the while bandits of other A.I players are competing for resources, etc, etc. Also have the ability to not only add new A.I members to make your group stronger, build stronger land defenses, and buildings as would no doubt find a suitable water supply... The list would be endless.

It could be done if it's done properly.

I know what you mean. That is why I pretty much play by myself on my personal server. There are many people out there just kill the MP experience for many people.
