I used to play CWG2 a lot. It was a turn based game that was somewhat rudimentary. It had its own distinct civil war flavor. It was very popular and I played many games on its MP site. I was just wondering how many people from that game play this one.

I played it in the late 90's. I played online very rarely, but I made a bunch of maps for the game. It was fun for what it was. I played Blue & Gray before that. It was a campaign strategy game that also had tactical battles on random generated maps.

Might still be my favorite Civil War game due to the linking battles even if your victories seemed to have less impact on future battles than they should if your victories were anything but minor. Loved that game. Never really played online though. Still play from time to time on my old XP laptop. It wont run on my Win 7 machine.

I had both CWG and CWG2. I also had all the Talonsoft Civil War Battleground games, Gettysburg, Shiloh, Antietam, Bull Run and Chickamauga....and from HPS Simulations - Civil War Battles : Campaign Corinth,
Sid Meier's Gettysburg and I think their was an add-on, South Mountain........
I spent many hours in the day playing these games..... they were very good back then...
