Adobe Flash Player 11.3

Probably should have put a question mark icon but I went with the frown face because I'm PO'd at Adobe.

Since the AFP 11.3 came out I have been getting update errors every hour or so, whether I'm on line or not. Several times these errors have crashed my game when I was working on critical designs. I've tried updating, changing my update preferences, etc., nothing works. Finally just had to uninstall the player. Now I can't view video presented on this forum or anywhere else, I especially miss my animated weather maps.

I've tried to find and install an earlier version, 9 through 11, but the download areas I google are full of crap. They lure you there with promises and when you DL their supposedly flash player, it's other crap which I have to abort or uninstall.

HELP!!!!

I'm running Firefox on an XP system.

This is a big problem with the last Adobe update. I use firefox too. If I want to view video I open up internet explorer. So I use 2 browsers now. I have been looking for a fix, but haven't found it yet. There are threads on the internet about this problem. If I had known I would have never updated.

RebBugler desperately cries:
HELP!!!!
It sounds as if you have a corrupt update. I also use Firefox and have no problems. Have you tried the the "system restore" to an earlier date? Or have you tried to uninstall Flashplayer via the Add & Remove programs menu?

Found a work around, and so far, a FIX ;) :)

Uninstall the flash player. I had to hunt down the app in the drive's base programs, hidden files, etc.

Then I went to the weather map and clicked install necessary plug in. Installed as directed with this key change: When it asks for the update options, click 'allow no updates', or something like that. But you can't miss it because it states "Not Recommended".

So, the fix I recommend is not recommended...my disclamer. :woohoo:
