I can't answer your question! I do find it amusing and perplexing that a computer game company should promote its product with a bunch of (expensive) live action scenes that could be from a Hollywood film. Mind you, their CGI version of Napoleon got such a heavy slating I suppose they don't want to use CGI again!
I guess they are making the point that it's in Rome and you have a number of political weapons at your disposal.
I found it amusing that the woman covered up the naked body of her dead victim with a sheet after she'd stabbed him!

also im guessing they've got nothing gamewise to show.
not sure i'll bother when it comes out,i think the original especially with mods is one of the best games i've played. cheers

I personally think that Rome Total War was the peak of the series. I believe that era of warfare works best for the Rome Total War engine. I will keep an eye on this but I really don't like the stupid live action trailer. Show me the game, not something that had nothing to do with the game!

I agree, it would have allowed them to pump more money into the development if they hadn't had to pay those actors and make those sets. They just needed an official SEGA/CA talking head to say what the next game was.

Yeah, Rome Total War was the best.. Also loved the expansions. It was fun to play as Attila the Hun in Barbarian Invasion, marching around the world sacking towns/cities...
The only thing I didn't like about it was you had to manage every single little settlement.. Seems like RTW was the most micromanage heavy. Yes they had the auto-manage option, but I never could trust that. I think Empire Total War did it best with simplifying that aspect, as well as diplomacy.
If RTW II takes advantage of everything that made RTW I great while using the modern game mechanics, it could be an awesome release.

...after which CA's only job is to write some code to make their battles sensible!
20 units a side and fights over in 15 minutes has always been nothing but an epic fail IMHO. They could really do truly epic things with that game engine but have never bothered, right from Shogun 1.
