When a unit is lined up on a fence or wall, normally, it would stay in a line along the wall, unless it was flanked. If a regiment was comming at it at a 20 degree angle, the colonel would just have the regiment aim towards the enemy, allowing all regiments along the wall to fire.

This isn't taken in TC2M.

Is this possible, even at this late stage?

The AI wants to bring the most guns to bear, so it's hard to give a firm rule.
