Loss of morale from marching??

I have never seen this before and am not sure if it's a bug, the regiment's morale dropped down to confident after marching on and off the road with it's fatigue at tired level. At one point the rally flag icon showed up as well. I had previously believed morale only drops from suffering casualties which this regiment had not been fired upon, so any clarification would be helpful.

B,
Wow! I've never seen that before. I will look for it in the future.

I experienced the same effect sometimes, but then the affected regiment was marching alone and without the brigade commander nearby. So I think this is related to the distance to the brigade commander and/or other friendly units.

This might be caused be a conflicting mod, but that's just a guess on my part!

I've never had this happen before, or maybe haven't noticed it. It could me some rare condition in the code or some bug in the map that caused it. It would be best to get a saved game next time it happens.

I was playing in this game with Baldwin which was a HITS & Couriers MP game.
Our group has been experimenting with the morale rules to make units break and run sooner (but rally and return) so that battles are less unrealistically bloody. We have reduced the rate of infantry fire but greatly increased the penalty for casualties so that firefights last about the same length of time but units fall back after fewer casualties.
The effects so far are looking good but these changes might be the culprit here. Note that the unit is already tired and this is a known bug when a unit won't obey the road march order and instead wanders along beside the road and often is getting the tiredness penalty from climbing fences.
A unit that is tired may have taken a morale hit for some reason, a combination of a mod and a game bug. We will definitely keep an eye on this in our next few HITS games because we plan on continuing to test the new morale rules.

Is this a
Multi-Player-Bug or are you speaking about the whole game.
In the years of playing this game the only time I have known units to leave the road were due to either a
road-error , or when the units are congested and bump each other off of the road.
But, most of the time when a unit is bumped off of the
main-inner-road the outer-road when keep him from wandering into the terrain!
If this is only related to the
MP game, then disregard this!

I tried it again on a different map in SP sandbox without the HITS and Couriers mod and the same event occurred. The regiment's morale dropped down as low as 3 clicks while marching back and forth. Then to add more mystery two other regiments in the brigade had their morale drop 1 click and they hadn't marched whatsoever. I guess there is a 'collective morale' effect for the brigade I hadn't know about either (other than the supporting unit bonus).

I only play MP, so I would not know if it occurs in SP. Its related to use of the command map in my case so I do not see how that would be MP related, specificaally.
Baldwin, there's no brigade-wide overall morale system as far as I know. The morale system in the game is fairly simple, so I'm led to understand.

I think I've isolated the problem. We were using the Fox's Gap OOB, the latest time we tried it I had a few regiments with lower than 100% morale to start the game. I don't have the Fox's Gap OOB so if someone could check to see if the regiments are starting at 9 morale (default for stock OOB) or 7 which is my guess. Another reason this is my best guess is it happened when I tried a converted OOB which had 7 starting morale for troops whereas the problem has yet to occur with the stock OOBs. This would make sense why myself and a few others haven't seen this effect occur often.
