The sadness of it all....Diablo 3 launched, but not what you may have wished for.

Post by Michael Slaunwhite »

Hey how ya folks doing today? If your reading this then your probably doing well, or I least I hope so.

Okay this post will be short, and sweat. For those who are wondering if Should you buy Diablo 3 I suggest rather strongly that you visit their link, and read on...

Remember this is the day that Diablo 3 has launched.

Oh one more thing, the minimum system specs for this game, and recommended specs say you require a broadband connection, what they are not telling you is that you require a full unrestricted 1mb raw stream connection for this too run. They also mention that wireless will not work since it doesn't have the speed required.

One more note: Single player requires you to be connected at all times to the internet...

Hi redcoat. No problem. Blizzards forum is just teeming with bad results. Sure the servers are being overloaded, but that doesn't at this moment in time counter the sheer incompetence they are displaying. They are now telling people to re-download the pre-ordered Digital copy because it's corrupt, and so many people are trying to download the fixed copy which only brought their download server to a literal crawl.

All Blizzard has done is hurt their overall fan base, and in some cases create such a hatred for Blizzard that many will turn to the torrent sites looking for revenge, even those who purchased the legit copy.

Very sad day for gaming in general... But not all that surprising to me at all.

I know people will say that it's bound to have glitches. Not on this scale, and not with Blizzard since this company has been in this business for a very long time, and not to mention they allowed for a full open beta stress test to be done, including allowing a closed beta test as well which ended on May 1st (that I am aware of) so they had plenty of time to get the bugs worked out before today.

Blizzard has no excuses.

Hell I should make a post telling everyone to pick up a copy of Scourge of War Gettysburg while they wait on Blizzard... :)

Hmmmm, still working my way through all the posts. Very interesting to see something I didn't know existed. I was reading this particular post telling of a gentleman complaining that his previous license was reduced to the Starter Edition. How many more types are there?

This has to be an error of some sort because I know only of two Diablo 3 game types, and these are the standard Diablo 3, and the Collectors Edition.

Anyway, very interesting reading at battlenet, there are posts sloshing in ever minute or so.

Haaa, I had to update this... and it shows how far people will go no matter had badly a company may treat them.

A particular person has created a thread asking people to sign the thread saying how grateful they are for Blizzard, and all of their hard work etc.

Wow, this is turning out to be a very entertaining day indeed, I can only imagine what the game critics out there will be writing about it...

Anyway, I have a few other things to do today...

Take care one, and all!

well,i dont like games that require a permanent internet connection anyway so i tend to vote with my wallet.isnt diablo a dungeon crawler? thats been done to death by others i think.
and i think youll find most game critics will have an eye to any future foreign trips blizzard might invite them on and, shall we say cut them a lot of slack!

i'll stick with the civil war and skyrim, which im now able to play thanks to my connection being upgraded to a blistering 5.6mbps!its a wonder my machines dont blow up with that much power! cheers

Nice speed redcoat, and I'm with you all the way concerning having to be connected to the internet for SP.

Yup, I wonder how many they will have paid funds too for good reviews...

redcoat, are you playing Skyrim online? I have the mod but I don't know if they have their servers up yet.

Yes it is a dungeon crawler, and your right it has been done to death. But for some of us Diablo just seems to be a much better play model than the others especially Diablo 1, and Diablo 2.

Hi Saddletank.

Could be a bad recording, Recording is of the Beta version so things could have changed in the way of sound in the retail.
