Does anyone here play the Silent Hunter series? I play III and IV. I like III because they are the Germans and I can do things like infiltrate Scapa Flow and whatnot, and I like IV because for many reasons:

You can be an American Sub Commander
You can use teh whole Pacific Ocean. I like going and shooting at Random Indian fishing boats.
You have a Torpedo Data Computer that is more than just point and shoot. I actually have to use some math I learned!
I like torpedoing Japanese.
The crew manages itself. They sleep on their own. I don't have to move them to sleeping quarters.

I loved SH3. It wont run on my Windows 7 Machine though and I don't feel like buying a new digital download copy just so I can get it to run.

I played SH4 but not nearly as much as SH3. Something about SH3 that's just amazing. It's just unfortunate that I didn't build my PC with a good graphics card with XP. My laptop is what I always played SH3 on and it was always a tad laggy because it only had an integrated graphics card and some of the amazingly done realism mods wouldn't run on it.

I have definitely come across a patch to let you play it on Vista and Win7.

if you go to SubSim they'll point you in the right direction.

PS - If you love Sh3 that much i hope you tried it with the GreyWolves mod!

SH5? I think they released a patch to get rid of that. Subsim will set you right.

The problem with SH3 was Starforce, a security programme. They released a patch to get rid of that too..

TBH - they're so cheap that its a crime not to pick up the best subsims on the market.

I have Win7 and I never needed a patch to run it.
