Hydroda,

Do you mean the background screens?

Not at my pc now but I think I know what you are talking about.

One or two are in need of the nappy treatment.

I will look at it but prob for version 2 of the portrait mod

I had the same trouble as you but then I realised I hadn't installed and activated the Logistics mod, now everything works fine. Probably not the solution for you but I offer it just in case you're as stupid as me ! :-)

hello guys! i just bought the game, and i dowloaded
the road to wagram with the peninsular campaign.

i am having some problems understanding how to corectly run
the mod. i coppied the files in the mod folder.

what happens now, is that when i try to start a battle,
the units of austrians and france are entangled from the beginning.
the austrian and french units spawn next to one another so the battle is
a mess.

thanks in advance!!! :)

Are you playing one of the scenarios, if so which one - or are you playing a sandbox game?

Sif,

What size battle, what type of battle and what map are you using to play? I've noticed this happens with all the types of Games/Mods we have here.

Army sized actions require the big (5-mile) maps so the troops aren't entangled from the beginning. Decent Corps sized actions can use the smaller Stock-sized maps. Sometimes this happens if you are playing a "Defend" or "Attack" sandbox game.

Try starting with a (Sandbox) Corps-sized battle using "Hunt them down", 2-3 objectives, and the full "Gettysburg" map. (Remember to check the "Balanced Forces" tab at the bottom or you might bite off more than you can chew). See where that goes and move on from there.

thanks for the very speedly reply!!!

i am trying to have a large battle.
i think that for that is the sandbox, or am i wrong?

what i do is a do a sandbox, the ekmuchl order of battle, large or full.

i have the road to wagram&peninsular and the wagram&peninsularKSV
selected in the modifications options. i also downloaded the patch which
i copied in the mod folder.
i read that you must have them in some order to work properly.
i have also tried with ksnnapoleonsmall (my resolution is about 1028*960).

i don't quite understand how the mods are required to run,
and what steps you have to take.

the spanish battles work well, i suspect it is because the armies are smaller.
though the spanish and wagram battles have almost the same staring positions for
the armies. i don't know if this is the way it is supposed to be.

i now am convinced i do something really stupid. i tried the gettysburg map, and
chose the union in the day-2 oob. they too became entangled from the very beginning
with troops from both sides spawning in the same area.

EDIT: i just realized that the USER scenarios are to be used. bur i still
have the same problem with sandbox, although the other scenarios work fine.
also in the sanbox scenario the imperial guard doesn't appear.

i know it's a lot of questions, please have patience! :)

The KSNapoleonSmall (KSN) mod uses several logistics files that overwrite the logistics files of the Road2Wagram&Peninsular (R2W) Mod, so you have 2 choices:

Road 2 Wagram "vanilla"

1) Activate R2W first, then R2W CSVs. This gives you Gunships mod as it was written and intended. Deactivate KSN.

Road 2 Wagram and KS Napoleon Mods

2) Activate R2W first, then KSN. Make sure you DISABLE R2W CSVs, because they clash with the KSN mod. This version of game play gives you Gunships Nap mod enhanced with the KS changes - and these are significant, and, we think, add greatly to the Napoleonic feel since the AI brigades will correctly use skirmishers, skirmishers become quite potent and useful, and AI cavalry will be far more of a threat. Artillery is also much more dangerous and powerful with realistically long canister ranges (out to 500 yards with the big guns). Attacking a battery head on is difficult, you need to capture artillery by flanking them.

Thanks for the help!!!

now i tried to do a hunt them down in waterloo oob.
the troops are all deployed in a huge square, but
now they are at least distanced from the ennemy!
is there a way to make them deploy from the start in a more balanced
position?

needless to say it's a great mod, although it's my very first! :side:

I'm a bit at a loss to know how to fix this. I guess you could take screenshots of your two Options pages and post them here so we can see your settings. The 'Realism' option should be set to 'Custom', the pre-set realism values will define certain things about the battle controls, etc.

Here's my 2 Options screens plus my Sandbox set-up. Try these settings and see how that works.

Remember the main game's ACW OOBs still show in your Sandbox choices - so obviously don't select one of those! Pick a Nap one!

Those are the same options i use too!

The ACW oob, are the north&south ones?
i used NAP OOB's. i have sownloaded some great maps for
napoleonic warfare. and i played a great battle of waterloo,
although i got my ass kicked :P .

i still can't find the imperial guard in wagram battles, though i
googled it, and they seemed to be there.

i am ashamed to ask how do i take screenshots? i tried several
combinations that work in other games.
