This probably isn't a bug, but a gaming code, but I don't know where else to put it.
Recently I've noticed that if the enemy closes within canister ranges, 9 times out of 10, instead of firing canister, the guns will automatically limber up and retreat out of canister range. They're not getting shot at, the enemy is just within 200 yards. What gives? It's extremely irritating to place a battery in perfect position to strike a regiment with canister, and instead the battery will up and run. The commander is TC'd, and now I have to TC each individual gun?

This was an enhancement put in place to cause artillery batteries to fall back when an enemy gets too close, and they are unsupported. If you put a friendly regiment nearby, they will stay in place. This was done for historical accuracy, as an artillery battery would rarely be left alone unsupported.

Thank you very much! I didn't know about the friendly regiments.
