A couple of questions/observations.

1. I noticed the couriers sent to me by another player have routinely rode past my commander then stopped some distance past and rode back to my position. Perhaps the courier pathfinding needs to update sooner?

2. What is, "Detachment released to your command?"

Thanks!

To help answer question 2. I am pretty sure that a detchment being released to your command is one of your detached units is rejoining your command and you can now control that unit.

Neal, if this is associated with the Multi-Player game than disregard this response, but I have noticed this in the single player game, but it has always been caused by me moving the commander.

And I have never seen the courier move a great distance past the Commander, before reversing course and delivering the message.

Yeah, it's a minor detail, it takes about a minute extra when I'm on the march because I'm moving with my command. It was a multiplayer game, we were communicating via couriers instead of on Teamspeak. Kinda neat, actually! I LOVE the free text thing. Best thing in the world for immersion.

Thanks David. I guess what I wish to know is if I am able to detatch units to another commander. We've always wanted that feature-it would be useful in some situations.

Yeah, I always try to look at this minor flaw as this probably happened a lot in the Civil-War.
A courier rides up probably in a unfamiliar location and shouts Message for General ??? , someone else probably shouts back ”over yonder…there” , courier rides over there only to be told “He was here, but He’s now over there” !
