I took a break after the failures of trying to re-install the game.

I hadn't touched the game for almost a month or two, knowing it would always crash.

Then, July 3rd, I remembered that I still had the choice of going back and resurrecting the game (hopefully)

So I un-installed what remained of SOWGb and re-installed (as in, downloaded it directly from the website),

I didn't run the game right after I installed it, I needed to install the patch as well, and I did not run the game after that (which may or may not be the reason why It's not running, I'm not sure).

Then I clicked on the icon for SOWGB that showed up on my windows start menu to run it.

It went out as last time, with the SAME error window.

Then another...

Could this be the culprit or no?

(P.S. the Antivirus issue I am well aware of. You see, my antivirus immediately notifies me with a small window saying if the downloaded files are safe, and both the patch and the game are 100% safe. Furthermore, I scanned the game with my antivirus, and it was safe. Adding an exception to the firewall I also did, did not work)

I assume this to mean you installed the 1.2 patch?

I would concentrate on searching online for the problem, by using the information that you have about your computer specs.

Someone in the world has probably had that exact problem, and solved it, you just have to stumble onto that information.

That's a DirectX error message. There is probably a corrupt file. Try running dxdiag.exe and see if it finds a problem. That exe will be in the \windows\system32 folder.

Gen: Did you ever get the game running?

The game ran once before, (the demo and the activation screen), but only shortly. In the time that the company sent me a renewal code for my game(since my game was still active and using my old activation code)

Same D3DERR? Did you look at your DirectX settings or reinstall DirectX. The game requires DirectX 9.0.C.

What version of Windows are you running? Can you run Dxdiag per MTG above and let me know the version you have? Here is mine. I'm running Windows 7
