Need Help

[Gen. McClernand]

Well, its been fine yesterday, I played some battles and whatnot, but today, I don't know whats wrong, SOW doesn't work.
To give you a brief explanation of how it looked like when I figured there was a problem, the screen was black with my normal white computer arrow. I waited, nothing happened, so I pressed CTRL-ALT-DEL, had the Task manager take its place and lose the game. Before it closed, there was a window open, it mentioned

'This Application has Runtime terminate it in an unusual way'

as well as C++.

I tried it a couple times, none of them successful.

I rebooted my computer, it didn't help.
I didn't put any custom OOBs or edit any files in it.

should I un-install the game? Then re-install? Will it effect any files I saved in it?

Do not uninstall, just reinstall.

Did not check that help thread, but figure it has to do with with an anti virus app conflict. AVG was a problem, same error window, for me. Supposedly that error was fixed, but I still keep the AVG Shield off, it tended to mess with lots of apps.

When ever the game just stops acting normally, it's been due to a virus definitions update. We have contacted the vendors many times about how they flag our app. We even had to remove a lot of the code because it was flagging too many people all the time. One great way to avoid this is to add an exception into the virus program for the game. That way they won't even check. But they also make it too hard. Many people on these boards have had the same issue and figured a good solution, so we should be able to find something that works for you.

at the bottom, after going through C drive, NorbSoftDev-SOWGB, I only see the un-install 'application'

Do you mean that there is nothing in your game folder?

Talk to Little Powell - he has helped me out with this same problem more than once.

I still haven't fixed this, I've added SOW as an exception to my firewall. Any more help not frowned upon....

Everything's in my SOW folder, it's just that I don't have a re-install button
