About the Game (want to get this game)

Hi guys,

I've just found out about this game and have been watching videos, reading these forums, and playing the demo. So far I've been really impressed with this game and how even the AI reacts very differently each time I play the demo. I just wanted to ask a few questions in the mp section since if I get this game, i plan on playing mp. Sorry if these have been answered before...

How active is the mp community at the moment? I don't have a microphone so will that hinder my communication abilities with other players (I know a little about the courier system and teamspeak 3 that is used)? Do you guys recommend getting the hard copy or the download copy? Are mods recommended/required to play with other players (I don't really know how to install them)?

Thanks in advance to any responses and I hope to see some of you on the field soon! :)

-Sharpe

Mr. Sharpe,

(Good name,BTW). The MP community is very active. Bunch of good lads there. They play almost every night. I myself can't much due to my new employment. Don't worry about Teamspeak. With the advent of "Free Text" in the courier system, it is much easier to communicate with other players on your side.
I think its about 50/50 on download vs. hardcopy game. I'm a download guy and have had no issues at all.
So, crank up your Visa card and get this game. You be happy you did. Time to h
get stuck in!

Hi Sharpe:

If you love the demo, then you'll love the game. There is not a better marketing tool than that demo - especially for a Sid Meier's veteran. I can still remember, after I played that demo, I just had to have the game.

As far as MP goes, Garnier has made it so that you almost need to join his "enclave" in order to be part of the MP community - which is partly what i feared would happen when I made my little protest back in November at the onset of the campaign. At the same time, once you get used to the rhythms and procedures of Garnier's system it actually makes the whole MP experience more intense and enjoyable. Plus, Garnier is very helpful should you have any questions.

Thank you for your responses. I've been looking for a good civil war game for some time and this one seems to be the winner for me. See you soon hopefully
