The Maps of Gettysburg by Bradley M. Gottfried
It breaks down every engagement of the battle with individual maps. You want to see how the 26th NC bested the 24th MI...you'll see how. I own about 20 civil war books and this by far is my best and it never gets old. Anyways...just thought I'd throw it out there.

I'll second this. It is really an awesome book. Gottfried wrote also wrote a book called, "The Brigades of Gettysburg," where he breaks down the combat-roles of every brigade. Together the two books are quite the resource.

you could also say "endorsed and referenced by NorbSoftDev" as we used this resource extensively to create the maps.

I love Henry W. Pfanz's Gettysburg books. They are very detailed if you can take the reading of course.

My Gettysburg bible has been The Gettysburg Atlas by Phil Laino. I used it to make all of my historical scenarios. 400 pages of detailed maps of all three days, plus the events leading up to the battle and the retreat. Great resource for scenario designers.

I tried looking up that book by Phil Laino, and I can't seem to find it. Are you sure that is the right author?
Anyways, I am going to buy the Brigades of Gettysburg book this weekend. Give it a try...
