Scourge of War Boards

The AI is not deploying Artillary in the single player Sandbox mode. I have several times played as a divisional commander and Brigade Commander in Corp Level. When it arrives it takes the roads right into the fight. Then mills around not firing a single shot.

Today I was the union (Standard) When it arrived it came right up and through my line which was engaged. Then turned and just milled about. Not one shot fired

I think the arty beahved better in the TC2M, in this regard.

Those must be the arty divisions. They behave as if they were infantry divisions instead of artillery. To get around the problem while Norb works on a proper arty AI, just make a custom OOB and assign the atry to division commanders, just as they are in TC2M. They will no longer wander into trouble.
