Campaign Game Starting

Post by Kerflumoxed »

I have posted this on the thread, "The Sound You Hear....", in reference to improved artillery historical accuracy. As an afterthought, decided it would be appropriate to have a separate thread for those who are interested in playing Campaigns. Accordingly, ......

As a Civil War artillery enthusiast, I concur with several of Capt. Willard's concerns. Fortunately for all of us, many of these have been addressed in Mr. Gordon's (Mayer) new "Campaign Game" that will be starting in the next few days. Increased range, target effectiveness and ability to manuever, all more representative than the stock OOBs. Additionally, the sides are balanced for fairness and even-handedness, i.e. not one side has a large numerical advantage nor does one side have all militia and the other all verterans. It will be a test of YOUR ability to command troops in a more historical manner or, in other words, are you as good as you think you are

This is a "beta" game adjustment that will require some play-testing and a learning curve. Mr. Gordon is always available for play testing and invites those interested to join in the lobby and give it a whirl!

Also, to join the new Campaign, go www.usvmc.net/csa/

Gentlemen, this a unique opportunity to rise above the normal, daily occupation of all soldiers of all times: "Grousing" (in polite terms)! Be positive in your evaluation, give it a fair shot, recognize it is not the normal "point & click" type of game, and be prepared to experience a more realistic game! You WILL have a good time, once you master the nuances and intricacy's! Give it a try!

Best regards to all,

Hello to All,

As you have read the New Campaign will be kicking off today at 4pm PDT. The rules are just like any other game. You hold VP's to supply and earn points. The points will decide which side has won that turns battle if there is any dicrepiency. Each side has numerically the same count and the Commanders of each Brig and Div. are set to the same count so as to let all begin on commanding by Courriers. One thing that will be corrected is the TC'ed Officer not responding to orders by the courriers. This will be of some concern for the time being but hopefully will be rectified soon.

I would like all who are interested in seeing how it works or even joining in on the campaign to please sign up on the SoA web page. www.usvmc.net/csa/

This will be courrier by Brig. which is to be fair to those who will like to command a Div. and those that like to just do Brig. to have the same time issue with courrier orders. The Campaign game is still in beta form and may contain a few bugs, which I hope to fix as soon as found.

I would like those who enjoy commanding by courriers to concider trying it out and seeing if you have the right stuff to command and win. As Norb has said many times this game which he has made so very well , has the need for courriers no matter how you feel they should go, by roads or by direct path. To command as a real Civil War commander you must have the time delay to make it as real as it gets. You must use thought and cunning to outwit your opponets and defeat them on the battlefield while still maintaining supplys for your troups.

Hope to see you all there have a great day and still no matter how you play this game it is by far the greatest ever made.

Is the enlistment form different from the login Registration form? In other words, we need to complete both?

I'm not sure if the first is just a Shen Club App and the other is a site login or if they are combined.

yes there is an enlistment on the page just fill it out and select which side you wish to play .Either South or North all are welcome to play the Campaign game . If you see JJ Gordon in Game Lobby just ask him to show you the game and if needed to explain how it works. We are all here to have fun and courriers are truely great fun.
