Better sky textures & rain?

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Better sky textures & rain?

Post by Michael Slaunwhite »

Hi.

I am wondering if anyone is thinking on making the skies be more dynamic, and I'm also wondering if rain can be added in to give it more atmosphere? Or would that just eat up too much processing power?

Just thinking here.

The Williamsburg map in TC2M featured rain, as it was raining on and off during the battle. It wasn't constantly raining on the map, just something that would occasionally happen. Since it didn't rain during the actual battle at Gettysburg (it poured before and after the battle), I don't think Norb felt the need to include it. Would still be an awesome addition for Sandbox or multiplayer, though.

Rain will probably be something added in the future. As stated, it was not included because it was not necessary at GB.

The Chantilly map of TC2M has gray skies and you can hear occasional thunder. Not loud thunder, but you can hear it. If there is rain, I can't see it. But the map is one of my favorites.
