Voici les deux scénarios historiques est converti au cours de français. J'ai utilisé le traducteur de Google pour ce faire, donc s'il vous plaît pardonnez-moi si c'est faux. Je fais de mon mieux pour vous donner plus, alors s'il vous plaît continuez à visiter. Je suis bien décidé à convertir autant que je peux pour votre plaisir.

Cette mise à jour, j'ai ajouté quelques scénarios plus historique, et a édité la scenario.ini afin de refléter le titre dans le rapport de bataille après.

Voici la nouvelle liste mise à jour pour vous des gens avec qui jouer. S'il vous plaît excuser la traduction parce que je suis l'aide de Google.

S'il vous plaît laissez-moi savoir si quelque chose ne va pas avec cette modification.

Hey cool, la traduction fait sens pour moi. Je sais, ce sera probablement assez drôle, jusqu'à ce que vous bonnes gens finement Traduire en français, je suppose qu'il aura à faire.

Il n'est pas nécessaire de les laisser en dehors de la boucle s'il ya une façon de le faire.

Il est temps de copier-coller consommer plus, mais bon, c'est au moins ça me donne quelque chose à faire.

Hi Mike,

Delighted to see your noble efforts to translate SOW to French. I hope you are using real French and not the “ le patois Québequois” which is near unintelligible to most Frenchmen.

Seriously though, you have a stiff task. Trying to translate American military jargon and slang into French military jargon and slang is liable to throw Google into hysteria. The basic translation is fine as a starter but you need a Frenchman, preferably with Les Paras or Legion Étrangere contacts, to fine-tune it for you. I hope someone responds but if I can be any help in the meantime I will try.

Being retired and single, I have all the time in the world and I speak a number of European languages passably. I can try to research the right expressions.

Can I put forward my suggestions for the first six that you produced.

GB01 The Boys Got Their Dander Up.

“Garçon” in French does not have quite the same meaning as “good old boys” in the States. Apart from its literal meaning as an immature male, the most common usage is for a “waiter” …. which appellation Buford would not appreciate. “Dander” is near untranslatable.

“Rogne” means scabby ,lice-ridden. True perhaps but not very heroic.

“Les braves trouvaient leur courage” would do until a more slang translation could be found or
“Les braves au sang ardant” …. The hot blooded boys

GB02 McPherson Ridge

Most French words for ridge suggest a much steeper mountain-like feature. ‘Le penchant” is probably the nearest. But why not just call the scenario.

“L’Attaque á la Ferme McPherson”

GBO3 Blood in the Run

“Le ruisseau sanguin” ………. The Bloody Stream perhaps

GB04 A Storm of Lead and Iron.

“Une Tempĕte du Fer et du Plomb” perhaps. Although I am not entirely sure if the French use the basic names of the metals in this idiomatic way to indicate “shot and shell”

GB04 The Bullet is Not Moulded Which Is To Kill Me

Here the French would plunge knee-deep into the Subjunctive. Also the passive tense is not used anywhere near as often as in English.

Probably something Like: “ On ne l’ait pas moulée encore, la balle que me tuerait”. All gets a bit complicated.

Probably better to find an alternative name. “Le Défense Du Tertre Barlow” perhaps.

GB06 Three Times is Not a Charm

I am not even sure what this is meant to mean in English. Hard to Translate.

Why not
“La Résurrection du General Jackson.” I can’t quite find the apt phrase for ”Stonewall Rides Again”.

When I set this up in MS WORD I put in all the accents. I suspect that the Courier font for posts will wipe them all. If so I can repeat in an e-mail.

It gives a rough and ready understanding of the sense of a piece but, all in all, compared to it, a Chinese User Manual reads like "Paradise Lost".

It is really not at all suitable for the purpose you had in mind. At best,it probably gave a good laugh to some of our members in Louisiana. At worst, President Sarkozy and L'Academie Francaise are about to declare war on Canada.

If you like to point me at the texts that you want translated, I will do my best for you. I tried to load something down from your site but I have not purchased the WIN RAR software and was rebuffed.

Hi Ingles of the 57th.

I wasn't trying to do a legitimate language conversion, I was only wishing to maybe give a small hint/gist of what was going on before the real effort to translate into other languages.

I know google is a very horrible way to go about this, but I have read several websites translated into english, and I walked away understanding what they were trying to say, so I thought why not convert over certain texts just to tied some players over who are trying to play this game with english text.

Believe me, I am not trying to convert over SOW, I wouldn't even try to convert it into english if I had too. :laugh:

I didn't do this too offend anyone.

Besides, it gave me something fun to do, which is alright in my books.
