Conflicts?

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Conflicts?

Post by Michael Slaunwhite »

Hi.

Has there been any changes with the new patches that may require older mods for the game to be tweaked to avoid conflicts? Just wondering since game files are changed, new things added, and maybe somethings omitted when new patches are applied.

Later!

I know there have been a lot of mods released but I can't think of a single thing in the patch that would effect them. On second thought, there has been one minor OOB correction that could effect a mod scenario or two. I'll look into my scenarios and see if it does. Good question!

As long as you stick to scenario mods that include their own Master OOBs, logistics files and related folders, there should be no conflicts.

Yeah that's the thing, mine haven't included logistics files (except for my latest series). Maybe I should go back and include them. :)

Awesome job Davinci !!

;) ;)

Mini Map gray units look real good !!!

:) :)

I did have one conflict where the gray icons reverted back to Red. This was with the Mod created by Wolfe "Enhanced Map Icons", which it makes the icons on the pop-up map more visible.

Once I Disabled the "Enhanced Map Icons", the gray units showed up.

Since installing 1.1, I can't get more than a few seconds into LP's A. P. Hill Carryover series (mission 1). Game just crashes to desktop. I've only tried a few other custom scenarios, but they seem ok.

Could be a conflict.. Could be something else. Can you post the contents of your SOWGB.log found in the Work folder? Hopefully that will give me a clue.

Also try disabling all other mods and then try again. Then, incrementally start enabling them again to see which one is causing the crash.

Also the good thing about the modding system, if there is a conflict, modders can work together to adjust our files to make them work together. So if this indeed a conflict, I'm sure we can get it straightened out.

Thanks - I'll try disabling mods first.

I'm now pretty sure that it was not any of the mods. I've extensively tested just about every combination of mods installed and have had no further problems. Sorry for false alarm!
