Can the Command Height function be added into the Patch without messing up anything ?

Mainly speaking about the Sand-box game!

Thanks,

How exactly do you want it added? This was changed to a user option rather than a scenario option, so I'm not sure if it can do what you want it to do.

Basically, the same , or a similar way that you did it with TC2M, by applying a setting and the camera stays on the ground!

So, are you saying that there is already a setting for the Sand-box game that will keep the camera fixed at a certain height?

Speechless!

The Max Camera Distance From You option is how you set this. Once it's set there, it is applied to all game modes (Sandbox etc.) Like Norb said, it is now a user option instead of a scenario option.

Understood, but I don’t think that we are taking about the same feature, my example would be adding the CommandHeight=7 – into the TC2M game, this will still allow you the freedom of movement, but the camera will stay at the ground level.

So, it doesn’t matter changing, or cycling through the units, the camera will never rise above the height of the men.

Can this feature be added into the SOWGB game without messing up anything?

Thanks,

We have that command, but it's a user option that they can use in every scenario rather than as in tc2m it was a scenario command. We found that allowing people to play the game the way they wanted was the best solution. It's all tied up in the difficulty levels though and if you are running custom options, then it is tied to the max camera distance from you. Not exactly what you want. With this design, it will not be a scenario feature, as we decided to make it a player option. But it can be done better and we'll take a look. Thanks.

Norb , thanks for taking the time to respond back to this, I’ll try to experiment with this new feature, ( i.e…max Camera Distance ) – but, I really did like the other way a whole lot better!

But, if I’m the only one that liked that feature, then I would agree that it probably isn’t worth your time to implement it into this game!

On the note of cameras, is it be possible to change movement commands to WASD when you're in follow mode, instead of keeping them bound to the camera? Currently follow is kind of useless because the camera is held in one direction and movement's a pain, and I'd kind of like to play a courier only entirely in follow mode some time.

There a feature request on that in the system.

OK, I have a sort of weird question to ask, does the game have any special programming that would treat the various regiments different?

This question pertains to the Sand-Box game, and the reason for asking is that the Massachusetts Regiments appears to keep marching forward before firing, while the other regiments stop and fire?

Strange, I know, but I have to ask!

BTW: Modded OOB – with all units having the exact same attributes’, friendly and foe, so it can’t have anything to do with that!
