Blank courier messages

This is with the beta patch 3.1 from May 31st. I believe it did happen before the patch as well.

What happens is, when I TC a cannon and his battery commander, now and then during the battle his commander will send courier orders to all of the guns in the battery. Any guns I have TCed will show me a blank message when the courier arrives. This is with "orders by courier" set to Side so there's no need to use couriers at all from any distance.

I'm not sure what causes this to happen. Couriers should never be sent from an officer who has been TCed, I would think.

That does not sound right. If you can get a saved game of this, please send it in and Norb will see what is going on. Thanks.

Hi, I was just playing a Corps vs Corps in the sandbox and was getting alot of blank courier messages as well. I haven't downloaded the latest 3.1 patch. Is the SOWGB.log file the correct file to send? I can do that if needed.

Hi Marcus,

Yes, you can send the sowgb.ini file and also a saved game.

Follow these steps below as Jim outlined in an earlier thread... :

On the Options screen page set the Autosave to 2 (minutes). This will generate a full save of the game every 2 min. If you get the crash again, go to the directory: C:\NorbSoftDev\Scourge of War - Gettysburg\Work\Saved Games. There will be a file named _autosave.sav, rename this file to some other name like precrash.sav. Start the game up and load this game up and let it run. If it crashes again, then you have captured the bug.

After the crash file is zipped and named, send it tosowsupport at scourgeofwar dot com.
